need script to back-up at pre-set time

I need to back-up my database from a host computer to the server, on a daily basis, and I'd like to automate this. I'd also like the script to add a unique number to the back-up copy's name. I know how to "Save a copy as", but not how to activate it at a certain time each day...advice much appreciated!
