Saving Layout View as a PDF

Featured Replies

I'm a relatively new user and I have a problem. I've got client proprietary forms that I've re-created as FM layouts. I need to be able to send this client PDF copies of the individual records because they won't accept a FM format. I want to be able to select a particular record and output it to a file...retaining the layout format so that I can send my client a PDF version. I'm sure that there is an easy step/explaination, can someone please help???

Version: v6.x

Platform: Windows XP

Johnson,

If I understand your question correctly, what you are looking for is to provide your client with the equivalent of the layout in printed form, along with the record's information, but you want to provide it in PDF format.

If that's the case, then it is as simple as printing to a PDF file instead of the printer. There are several available PDF drivers available on the market. I use pdf995 from www.pdf995.com. After you install it, simply select it as your printer during the pring dialog process andsave your printout to a pdf file.

Hope that helps.

You might also check out "CutePrinter" as a method of saving to .pdf. I've been using it successfully for the same purpose....

Sorry, that would be CutePDF Printer. I select it without looking at it anymore, and truncated the name.
