March 24, 200421 yr If I put an email address in the To: field of the send mail script step and then send it via Mail.app OS X 10.3.3, The address doubles itself like this <[email protected]>, <[email protected]>. If I put: Name <[email protected]> in the To: field, I get the following: >, <[email protected]> I can't find documentation for this annoying behavior... can anyone else duplicate this? Dana Version: v7.x Platform: Mac OS X Panther
March 25, 200421 yr Do you have it set to Send the e-mail to your found set? Or is it only sending it to the current record?
March 25, 200421 yr Author just the current record. So I can loop through the found set and send a customized message to each recipient.
March 25, 200421 yr Reed, I just tried to duplicate your problem with no luck. Hopefully someone else will have some idea to help you out. Michael
March 25, 200421 yr I remember this when I used it years ago. In the end I just entered the naked e-mail address into the field, no names or extras.
April 14, 200421 yr I'm having the same exact problem as Reed where the email address doubles itself. I'm doing the same thing...have a script that loops through the found set and sends a customized message to each recipient. I'm using OS X 10.3.2 and FMP 6.0 v4. Kristine
April 28, 200421 yr Newbies I am having this same problem with the Send Mail script step and the Mail application in Mac OS 10.3.3. The To field is incorrectly formatted even if I just put in an address only. The bug appears to be with Mail though, not Filemaker. If I change my default email client to Entourage the script works.
April 28, 200421 yr Author I have tracked down the issue with Mail, and I have found that if the email address appears in Mail's previous recipients list, then the To: field will be correctly formatted. So if you send mail to each recipient through Mail first, subsequent mailings should work. Dana
October 20, 200421 yr Anybody had any luck getting around this (without just using naked e-mail addresses)? It
