problem with To: field using send mail script step

Featured Replies

If I put an email address in the To: field of the send mail script step and then send it via Mail.app OS X 10.3.3, The address doubles itself like this <[email protected]>, <[email protected]>.

If I put: Name <[email protected]> in the To: field, I get the following:

>, <[email protected]>

I can't find documentation for this annoying behavior... can anyone else duplicate this?

Do you have it set to Send the e-mail to your found set? Or is it only sending it to the current record?

just the current record. So I can loop through the found set and send a customized message to each recipient.

Reed,

I just tried to duplicate your problem with no luck. Hopefully someone else will have some idea to help you out.

I remember this when I used it years ago. In the end I just entered the naked e-mail address into the field, no names or extras.

I'm having the same exact problem as Reed where the email address doubles itself. I'm doing the same thing...have a script that loops through the found set and sends a customized message to each recipient. I'm using OS X 10.3.2 and FMP 6.0 v4.

I am having this same problem with the Send Mail script step and the Mail application in Mac OS 10.3.3. The To field is incorrectly formatted even if I just put in an address only. The bug appears to be with Mail though, not Filemaker. If I change my default email client to Entourage the script works.

I have tracked down the issue with Mail, and I have found that if the email address appears in Mail's previous recipients list, then the To: field will be correctly formatted. So if you send mail to each recipient through Mail first, subsequent mailings should work.

Anybody had any luck getting around this (without just using naked e-mail addresses)? It
