Exporting Layouts into another filemaker pro file

You can copy and paste all the layout objects from one FileMaker layout to another, but it won't bring over the field definitions and scripts attached to your buttons. Create the field definitions and scripts in the target file first, then copy the layout from the source file and paste into the target. You will probably still need to reassign the scripts to your buttons, but the fields should at least be intact.

yeah, thats what I have started doing, but there are so many layouts that I need to work with. So, I thought if there is some way I can just export them.

Beware - another thing not copied is the tab order. What a royal pain that is when working with many layouts of many fields. But as someone once suggested to me, you could always pay a lesser-being to do the tedious re-numbering for you. wink.gif
