Newbies UGORIPE Posted March 29, 2004 Newbies Posted March 29, 2004 Is it possible to create dynamic value lists within FileMaker 6? example: I have a pop-up menu with five selections, A B C D E. I have a second pop-up menu with other sub-selections, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. I want the selections in the second pop-up to be dynamic and only show relevant choices based on what is selected from the first menu. So, for example, if one selects A, 1245 are available for selection in the second pop-up. If one selects B, 367 are available. Is this possible? And if so, how? Thanks. Version: v6.x Platform: Mac OS X Jaguar
Reed Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 The second value list should be based on a relationship I have attached an example file with cities and states Here everything is in one file, but you would probably make one file with all the possible locations and then use that file to generate your value lists when entering, say, people's addresses. dvl.fp5.zip
Ugo DI LUCA Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 Hi, You didn't say if your fields were classic fields or repeating fields. Just in case, as I uploaded an example just a few weeks ago, here's why, even if it works, you wouldn't go the Repeating way. Conditional And Repeats Version: v6.x Platform: Mac OS 9
