When I try open a Filemaker file of mine... I get the following message:

"Is write protected or in use - you will not be able to make changes." but it doesn't even come up. Please help, I really hope my data is not lost.

FileMaker Version: 5

Platform: Windows XP

right click on the file and check properties the file may be locked
