Within the portal I want a calc field to compare the value of a field in the portal, with the value for the current record (outside the portal). There seems to be no way to get them both at the same time. If I base my calc on the portal's relation, I can get the portal row's field value, but not the current record's field value (it evaluates to the related value). There may be other tricks available. Anyway, by doing so you'd force unstored calcs which wouldn't be a good option if the number of records was high. Too slow.
