Buttom to switch files

A. I have two different files that I usually have open on the desktop. Is there a simple script that I can attach to a buttom that will jump from one to the other when they are already open?

B. Also in scriptmaker to go to the different modes. Is there a way to tell it to go to layout mode at the end of the script?
