cjaeger Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 a) try opening the database with option key down (mac) or shift (?) in windows this will give access to the password dialog. the demo at lostpasword retrieves the first letter of the pw. This may help.

Vaughan Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 There are no user names in FMP 6 and earlier, only passwords. FMP 7 introduced usernames.
Singlequanta Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 FMkey also works very well at recovering lost passwords. However if she was smart she may have used non standard characters in her passwords. This results in fmkey returning a false password. The real password is recoverable it just takes a bit more mukin about to get it thats all. FileMaker Version: Dev 7 Platform: Windows XP
