raingirl Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 I don't want to turn indexing off but I am unsure how indexing works in the background. Does it keep information from a long time ago indexed even if it doesn't exist anymore? I have a group of databases that are extremely slow on the server (lots of records, lots of indexing). I am just wondering if it is possible to clear the indexes in the background or to clean them up. Could indexing slow down the databases like this after time? Is there a program I need to view this kind of information? Thanks! Marcelle
Fitch Posted April 29, 2004 Posted April 29, 2004 That is what Save a copy - compressed is for. You'll need to close the files on the server and open them with a local copy of FileMaker to do this.
