Pop-up list/Insert values into field

Hi,

I have a field that is formatted as a pop-up list and displays values from a value list. Users are supposed to select one of the values from the drop-down menu; however, sometimes they type in their own values. How can I avoid this?

If I create reports based on those values a lot of unknown/entered by the users values appear. I can't really use radio buttons because I have more than 20 values in the list. Is there any way to make users select values from pop-up list and at the same time not to allow them to type or modify those values?

Hi Jul,

Either use a popup menu in stead of a popup list...

...or use Field validation to have Filemaker generate an alert when a user tries to enter a value that is not in the valuelist.
