Leading Summary Not Updating

Featured Replies

A list layout with leading summary. When data are changed, the summary part won't update unless I leave the current table and come back again. What am I doing wrong here? Didn't remember having this problem in FMP 6.

Actually the leading summary won't update until a new find is made. Even the "Refresh Window" command doesn't update the summary fields. This is very weird! Any idea why?

When you change your data (or add a record) you may be changing your sort order? And your sort order must exactly match your layout parts (break field). Just a thought ...

Sorting has never made sense to me in FM. Do layouts still have their own sort orders in FM7 as in FM6? If so, how on earth am I supposed to find out what order is being stored in a layout.

Anyway I don't believe this has anything to do with my problem. I use a script to open the specific layout. The script includes a sort command. And this is a leading summary but not a sub-summary part. I don't see why sorting order mattters.

Layouts do not "store" sort orders.

Summary fields only display correctly in Preview mode.
