I have 2 files contacts and company

I want to do a consolidated search in the company file. which is fine for companies but not for contacts. When I do a search for a say "page" in the surname field it returns the first person in the company which contains a contact with the surname "page"

Is there anyway of getting a full list of all the "pages" without having to use a separate search layout in the contacts file??

Thanks

I don't quite follow what you are trying to do or how your files are related.

If you are looking for all the Companies with a contact called 'Page'

then simply put the Contacts::Name field on a layout in Companies.

If you are looking for all the 'Page' in the Contacts file, then you need to do the search using a layout in that file.

OR set up a relationship from Companies to Contacts using a global field ContactFinder to ContactName.

Enter 'Page' in the global field and use a portal to show all the Page's.
