This is probably a seemingly simple script step i'm missing, but it's driving me nuts. I'm using FM7

I have a layout with merged fields. The user clicks on a button to amend the address which opens a new window (editing) (520x420 positioned 100x100).

I have inserted all manner of maximise, lock status area etc, and yet for the life of me, when I call the "editing" window in the script, I cannot stop the original layout from resizing which looks ugly. Any ideas?

Biggest problem is, no matter where i position the command to maximise my screen, it is before the open window command which thus again resizes it back down when run. Calling the maximise screen command after the open window just maximises the current (i.e editing) window. I have a funny feeling you just can't have a mix of different window setups. Also, I'll need to script into see if a window of the same name already exists i guess.

P.S any word on an update? the slowness let alone the font rendering is driving me batty!

Hey

I had some of these issues - mainly the one about seeing if a window is already opened - a wee while ago... I thing the word on the street is that MS windows is a bit picky about the whole fm windows thing - here's a link to the thread...

( hey how DO you link to an old thread?) Anyway it's in this forum and is called "windows, windows, more windows... or something like that...

Odd though if you are setting size and position info in the script step option that it's not dealing with it... maybe try getting rid of all the other steps so it is not confused about what you want to do...

Sounds a bit like a new puppy eh?
