May 24, 200421 yr Hi...! sorry for my Enlgish... My real job is Graphic designer... I use FileMaker Pro for one part of my work (catalogues) I also write articles here in Greece in 3 magazines (two Graphic design magazines and one about General PC technology) The One about General PC technology is the biggest magazine about PC's here in Greece (60-75.000 /month) There I write advanced photoshop technics (see file). Generally in my articles I want to keep very high level (see file). No one since now write an article about FM pro 7. The magazine gives me 6 pages (about 4.000 words with 5-6 screen shots plus a big "WOW" Illustration about Fm Pro in the beginning of the article ....I Will post it when I finished it...) I wrote about - History - New custom functions - New Script Editor - Unlimited tables - Capacity - Relationships - New Layout features The questions for you are: -What to write about WEB and build custom web sites with XML and XSLT.. (I don' t Know anything about) -What are these 2-3 little thinks I can write to convinced "Access users" to move to the FM Pro word. Any suggestions...? p.s I Give you one of my past articles about photoshop (In pdf) to see that I take every job very seriously.... and I promise to represent the Fm Pro community here in Greece with every respect ...! May 24, 200421 yr I would think Unicode storage would be a big deal for Europe in general, I dunno if Access has that. The problems I've heard of for Access are: - Stability - Capacity (bogs down at 100,000 records), on the "Magnificant 7" tour, a 6 GB database is demo'ed, with millions of records. - Network performance isn't good. Disclaimer: Maybe some of these issues have been resolved, I haven't used Access myself for years.
May 24, 200421 yr There was a white paper comparing Access to FM5.5 is posted on FileMaker's website. It is now in the archive section, but here is the link to the article. It is a bit dated now that FM7 has been released, but the info on Access is still current. HTH, Mike
