I'm considering advising my boss to buy several FM7 Pro licenses. But I hate the fact that I cannot use variables and functions in a normal way. So is the solution buying one FM Developer 7? And will functions made in Developer 7 run on FM7 Pro?

Yes. Custom functions created in Developer are available when the file is opened by Pro.

FM Developer 7 will allow you to create custom functions but not like the ones i suspect you are talking about. You don't write any fuction code. I'd download the trial version and check it out before spending your boss' money.

And still no variables or passing parameters around... There are plug-ins that will add these though. But they will cost you extra.
