hope this is the right section....

in my invoicing/line items setup i have a whole bunch of different views, layouts, etc. for printing or previewing. i was thinking of adding a field which could be populated with the invoice amount (copied from the totals) while i need to run a script anyway. the reason for this would be that an overview of the master file could probably much more quickly displayed compared with a local field compared to a live calculation of the type Sum(lineitems::netValue). just wondering if you think this is an advantage, or if calculating a bunch of line items for display in the master file wouldn't be a big deal.

Much faster. In the case of calculating totals, scripts run faster than calculated fields.
