Email layout / One Record

Featured Replies

  • Newbies

Hi, I'm a complete newbie whom is very very confused.

I really need to be able to send 1 record (which is also the current layout),

By email. I cannot figure out the script! I also cannot find help else where.

Many many thanks for anyones time explaining this to an idiot,

coops. [color:"666666"]

Questions:

1. Do you want to send it as a graphic, or as the text of one or more fields?

2. Do you want to automate large batches, or just do them here and there as needed?

3. What is your FM version, platform (Mac OS #??/Windos ??) and email application(s) available?

The simplest solution for here-and-there text emails is to use the ScriptMaker to make a new script with just one step: "Send Mail" (near the bottom in the "Miscellaneous" category), and (at least on versions I'm using) you'll then be able to specify which field contains your destination email address, which contains the from:, which contains the content.

If you want to send several fields' worth, then you need to use a calc field to concatenate your info, using

&"

Do you really really want to send the layout? Or just the data? If you want to send the layout, then you want iMailer by Datadesigns. http://www.datadesigns.com
