Newbies Dr Tachyon Posted June 8, 2004 Newbies Share Posted June 8, 2004 I know this is kind of a speciallized question, but I thought this was the most likely place to get an answer. I don't know if it even possible, but I want to export Filemaker data to a graphics program to automatically build simple figures, specifically geologic cross-sections and columns. This may be more of an issue with finding a graphics program that allows macro-like functions. Can anyone provide some advice? Thanks
Fenton
If you're on a Mac, take a look at http://www.Satimage-software.com. They are serious math/graphics/AppleScript guys. I don't even know what they're doing, but I like the pictures :-) They also distribute the free AppleScript editor Smile and the Satimage OSAX (Scripting Addition). FileMaker can run AppleScript natively, to get the source data from your fields. Other than that I know that VectorWorks has some serious macro scripting, a whole language. You can get a module to work with it within BBEdit (Mac). VW is cross-platform, an excellent technical drawing app.
bruceR
Also consider Omnigraffle.
