Sad to say I'm stuck on (what I thought was) an easy one. I have one fmp file developed in 5.5, Windows xp, that I need to send to people running mac os 9 and x for use in single user mode, not served.

What do I need to do so the mac people can open the file?

The Mac uses a file attribute called a Creator Code to determine which application to use to open the file. Windows simply uses the file extension.

All that you need to do is to take your files to a Mac, then launch the Filemaker application, then open the files via the File -> Open menu.
