I am trying to figure out the best way to link contacts to other contacts when they are in the same contact table.

Any suggestions?

To make a self-join, you pull out a line on the relationship graph from the contacts table, then move back into the contacts table and release - it will prompt you for a new name and create the hookup with a new "occurrence" of the same table.

Wouldn't you be best to create another table "Links" to allow a many to many relationship in contacts?

I think the difference is the self-join only allows a link to one parent record, where using a Link table allows you have as many Contacts as you want linked to a particular Contact.
