mgm75 Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 We have a solution that does evidence tracking for police departments. The program generates a barcode (3of9) based on a calc field. No plugins are used. We use the hhp 3800 usb scanner. We have been ask to use a wireless scanner with our system. Any recommendations?
stanley Posted June 19, 2004 Posted June 19, 2004 Mgm75: You're looking for something that functions exactly as the hhp 3800? The HHP 3870 or HHP ScanTeam 5770 use the same form factor, but are cordless. They also cost a fair amount above the 3800's cost. I'll assume that they have the same rock-solid design; I'd go for HHP scanners before any other. If your clients can afford it, that's the way to go. -Stanley
jasonwood Posted June 28, 2004 Posted June 28, 2004 I'm also a big HHP fan, but that 38xx cordless series is so ugly. You'd have to paint it before I would use it, but maybe that's just me. I also don't think it supports USB. You might have a look at Intermec's ScanPlus 1802 Cordless with USB. I don't have any experience with it but know of a company that has used them with success.
