Lookups not displaying

Hi --

We have an ordering database in FM which is accessed via the web, using cgi scripts, javascript, and CDML. (FMPro 5, Mac OS9)

The ordering from can accommodate up to 6 items, which are represented by repeating fields. When you enter the item name, the catalog number, vendor, and estimated price are looked up, and javascript submits the form and refreshes with the appropriate values.

This all works beautifully in FMPro itself. Via the web interface, the vendor and catalog numbers update great, but the estimated price is stubbornly blank.

Incidentally, the records that were already in the DB appear just fine, with the estimated price right where I want it to be. And creating a new records works great too. I just can't get it to be looked up for the web-created records.

Any thoughts?

FYI, I'm a decent programmer but a novice at CDML -- and I'm basing my scripts off of someone else's, and he could never get the estimated price to work correctly either.

Thanks,

cat

I doubt if "Lookup" fields work with WebCompanion. Where is the "Lookup" value coming from (VlaueList or Related database)?

All the best.

The Lookups are coming from a related database.

The other fields are coming up okay, though.. they are text fields, and this is a number field. Do you think that would make a difference?

Related ValueLists do not work through WebCompanion frown.gif Hence, Portals or InlineActions are used.

Good Luck.
