I'm setting up a columnar report in the layout mode. I'm using the report to view info not to print anything. I'm trying to move some fields to the right to give myself more room on the report but every time I do they revert back to where they were. I've tried adjusting the right margin but that doesn't seem to help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Noting in what you've told us accounts for your fields reverting to their original locations. Columnar reports can (in my experience) be edited in much the same ways as other types of layouts - they just print differently.

However I must say that given that you've said that you are doing this in order to view rather than to print, the exercise may not be very useful. Unless you plan to flip into preview mode to do your viewing, you will not see columns on screen - a layout is not rendered into column format until it is previewed or printed.

You can see the report if you use browse/list mode as well can't you.

When do they revert back? when you switch to browse mode?
