Auto-running scripts when updating a field content

Hi,

Can any one advise how to make a script running when the contents of a field gets updated. In other words, after making changes on the contents of a field (entering, modifying, deleting values), a specific script runs automatically.

Thanks

Thanks too. Though I wish they had stuck this option in the validation for FM7.

Keep in mind that, in 7, you can apply auto-enter calculations to other fields which will change EVERY TIME a condition changes within another field. If you mention validation, what type of changes do you want to take place? Scripts simply aren't as necessary for changing record data or even many types of validations, because you can now have an auto-enter calculation CHANGE the field contents to whatever you wish after the User leaves the field. Or you can have another field change (via calculation) when certain conditions are met within the record.

Don't anyone discount this feature ... it is powerful. For it to change constantly: Auto-Enter tab, Calculated Value and (directly under that) unclick 'Do Not Replace Existing Value.'

If anyone on this thread wonders if auto-enter will replace a script or validation for them, I suggest they post their requirements. You would be surprised how many times a script is not necessary.
