timber35150 Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 We have just introduced Server 5.5 into our small office, onto a file server running windows 2003 server.Workstations are on XP with FM6. This server business is all new to us here, and we are currently experiencing very slow connectivity on all workstations (e.g. opening files from buttons also scripts running very very slow). Its not a huge database, i would say its not even a complex one neither. On occasions it can take 4 to 5 sec onds for a script or file to open from a button. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
timber35150 Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 its ok folk, have now rectified the problem.
timber35150 Posted July 5, 2004 Author Posted July 5, 2004 John, The problem was due to additional developement of our database being carried out from a workstation/s whilst files were still being hosted. When i the novice developer was creating / developing additional scripts, i did not realise that the files for developement should have been copied over to a PC (stopping the FM service), then pasting back for FM Server to hosting once more. Simon.
