Sequential search

Featured Replies

I would try a portal filter plugin.

oAzium Portal Filter lets you add a "Filter" field to your layout and have your portal update on the fly to show rows that match that filter. It's like searching the portal instantly!

When looking up data or entering new data, I need the ability to do a "sequential" search on items in an existing database. If I am looking for a customer named "Smith" I want to be able to enter "S" then "M" then "I", etc and have the list scroll down, first displaying all customers whose names start with "S" then all customers whose names start with "SM", etc. I am currently using Lotus Approach and it does exactly that by design. I have spent considerablt time pondering this and have drawn the conclusion that it is not possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
