H.P. Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 Could someone please tell me what type of harddisk is recommended for Filemaker Server 7 for Windows, with 20 to 50 users? The server is only for filemaker so the size is not that important. I don't think the database would exceed 1 GB. Thanks, H.P.
Kurt Knippel Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 FAST and RELIABLE. Get a good brand with a warranty. IBM, Maxtor, Western Digital. 10,000RPM with 8-16MB of Cache. If you can go with a SCSI controller and drive I would recommend doing so, better performance and reliability. Do NOT skimp or go cheap on this drive, it is the heart and soul of the Filemaker Server.
H.P. Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 Thanks capt I guess SATA, SCSCI or RAID should be good enough.
