Lookup fields only lookup some of the time

I have a FM Pro 5 database where if I type in the main client number field it is suppose to return info in several lookup fields for name and address. It works fine when I type some client numbers and then on some it doesn't work at all.

I'm not sure why because the numbers do exist in the database that the relationship is with. Has anyone seen this before?

Is client number a number or text field? If it's a number field, do you use alphanumeric or just plain numbers?

I've been having similar problems. I've written a post w. regard to them.
