automatic ranking my data when I do a find/sort

Featured Replies

Working with a PC and FMP 6.0v4; I am very new to this.

Question is I would like FMP to rank the data I find when doing a find and sorting it. I would like FMP to number the fields 1-200 automatic.

This way i can see quickly who the number 155th person is from this list.

Any help! very sorry if posted in the wrong forum!

If you put the @@ symbol in a text block on your list layout, it will automatically number the found records.

Sorry I have to ask and thanks for your help!! But Where is the "Text Block" located in my data base and not sure what you mean on list layout? I am guessing if I knew where to put the @@ symbols correctly by list layout you mean the layout i will be observing this information.

Not sure if this is what you I was suppose to do, but it did not work.

In a field on the layout I created a field that is defined as text. After finding and sorting my data that I wanted i put @@ in the newly created field that is to be text and no results.

Where do I put the @@? what do you mean the text block?

thanks

No field is required, Just past it directly on the layout in Layout Mode.
