sebastes Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Hello, this is my first post so please bear with me... I am a new user of FMP7. In the database that I've created, i have a Table of Samples related to a table of Labs. Each sample is collected in one of 6 container types that I have listed in a container field with a value list. The containers are supplied by the Labs. I would like to sum how many containers of each type I have in my sample table and have that value reported on my Labs table. In other words, Lab X needs to send me Y 1-gallon jugs. I could not find an easy calculation to do this. Is there a way to do a conditional sum of non-numeric data? Thanks for your help.
bruceR Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 See my example file which does exactly this in Sample files.
sebastes Posted July 19, 2004 Author Posted July 19, 2004 Thanks! I assume this is your Sample file from 6/15/04. Ed
sebastes Posted July 23, 2004 Author Posted July 23, 2004 Your solution involves scripts and a single table. I am not sure how to modifythe script to display values from a related table. Will it work for FMP7?
