Newbies sfav Posted November 18, 2001 Newbies Posted November 18, 2001 To all, Is there a way to script pop-up dialog boxes to allow user entry to submit to information, say in find mode, in scriptmaker. I appreciate any help in this matter.
Korky Posted November 18, 2001 Posted November 18, 2001 You can't evoke authentic dialog boxes but you can simulate them. Design a new layout and draw a large button on it; format the button to "Do Nothing"; drag the fields you want over the top of the button and draw any design elements;to access the layout write a "Find" Script; as this will have to pause in order to enter the Find criteria, put a "resume script" button on your dialog box, but give it a more meaningful label; I suggest that you also include the "Toggle Status Area (Hide) step. Hope this helps.
SteveB Posted November 18, 2001 Posted November 18, 2001 Depending upon what you really need the dialog box to look like and do, you can also use a plugin like the Troi Dialogs. This would eliminate the need to constantly create new layouts. The dialog window would appear on top of an existing layout. Troi has one that has an entry window and up to 4 buttons. See his stuff at www.troi.com.
