I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to perform keyword searches of documents linked in container fields. For example, if I've got some scientific reports stored and linked as .pdf or word files to my filemaker "document inventory" database, can I design a way for users to be able to search the linked files? When using the standard filemaker "find" mode, one can't search container fields as far as I can tell. Has anyone come up with any kind of solution that would address this? Thanks in advance. LiveOak Posted September 8, 2001 Share Posted September 8, 2001 One not very elegant way is to create a text field in FM and type the desired keywords for the article into it separated by carriage returns. This would allow rapid access using a relationship.
