Copying Scripts to new database

Featured Replies

I have a database that is "trashed" frown.gif" border="0 so to speak. I created a new one and have been copying and pasting layouts to it (I did an export on the original database to get all the fields).

I want to know if there is a way to copy scripts to the new database instead of manually reentering them all. I'm using version 3.0v5 for the Mac.

Thanks. crazy.gif" border="0

I don't know if V3.0 has this feature, but if you click on the Define Scripts menu, you'll see the Import scripts function. Make sure that you first define all the fields that appear in the original script(s).

Version 3 doesn't have this feature. Neither does FMP 4 or 4.1, it's only in FMP 5.0 and later.

You'll have to rebuild them from scratch. What I do is create one databasde with all the scripts, layouts and passwords then clone it, change the fields definitions and import the data back. Still slow and time consuming, but faster.
