buck Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 Howdy, Is there a way in FM7 or FM7dev to temporarily bold/highlight keywords in found records after a search? Example: if a have a bunch of recipes and I perform a find for "onion", on all the found records containing "onion" can the word "onion" be bolded temporarily to help the user find the word? Another example is here on the word "headache": http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:fe2XC...520headache.pdf headache pdf&hl=en Thanks a bunch
buck Posted July 29, 2004 Author Posted July 29, 2004 Sorry, the above link didn't work upon posting, this is what I meant to post: http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:fe2XC...e+pdf&hl=en
Leader Posted July 29, 2004 Posted July 29, 2004 I've done just that, but not on the scale you propose. In my case, I took small text messages out and reformatted them with italics and bold (not hilite) for a reference bibliograhpy. FM7 is better designed for your purpose than just about anything else, but it could prove processor intensive if your text is large and the need to bold frequent. However, clever and efficient use of the text functions can help a lot. I usually end up with a number of global fields that I use as temporary variables when parsing.
