Search for records across tables & user input data

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am new to file maker pro.

I have 3 tables- People, Teachers and Courses. People and Teachers are related through a common field "Client ID". Teachers and Courses are related through a common field Course ID. A teacher can have more tha one course ID.

I want to search for course details(from course table) of teachers who are Professors, i.e status = Professors(in teachers table). I tried using Constraint found and I have been unsuccessful. Could anybody help me out? I would also like to know if its possible to search for course details from Courses table, using a field from People table, say Last name = Jordan(Courses and People are not directly related) such that I get courses take by the people with last name Jordan.

And lastly, is it possible to search for records using constraints entered by the user? i.e. can I use user input data as constraints? Is the Troi plug in for filemaker pro helpful?

Thank you in advance for looking through this.

Jenny
