I have a large text value list that I am unable to add using the "Use Custom Values" option. The maximum character count indicated in the error msg is 30000. How can I define the value list with such a large number of values? Do I use "Use values from another file"? I have tried to specify a text document containing the values with this option but am not allowed to select the file.

Hi scchang

"Use values from another file" only refers to a filemaker table with a defined value list.

Try the "Use values from field" option, refering to a filemaker table in which each record will provide a value for your list.

BTW 30,000 values is no good idea and not sure filemaker will properly handle it.
