Automatically entering the elipsis on a search

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone:

I was hoping automate a search for the user, but I wasn't sure of the most appropriate way to go about it.

Basically, i want them to search on a range of dates, and I don't want to have to have the user memorize the fact they have to type ...

I tried creating two global fields (for when the user goes into find mode), where they could enter the first date, and then the second date. However, when I copy it into the actual date field (for actual searching) it just created a question mark (I tried to enter a concatenation of the first global + "..." + the second global).

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks a bundle!

Jim

This typic comes up all of the time. Do a search for Entering Date Range or Date Range in the Finding & Searching Topic Area, or even the whole Forum.

There is also at least one Sample file that shows how to do that here in the Forum by Russ Baker, here is a link to the thread, be sure you pick the most recent version.
