ori_wel Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 I just inherited a Mac OSX server which is running FMP Server 5.5. I know it is running because the files are located on the machine and I can access the files remotely at the computer's IP. However, while on the server itself, I cannot tell that the app is running. The FMP config screen does not appear in the Dock. Moreover, when I launch the FMP config, it appears with the file diagram appearing "down" and the button says "Start Server". Is it set up as a service? Is that possible with a Mac? Perhaps this is an elementary question. Could someone point me towards an article or give me a quick pointer or two on getting control of the app. There is only one administrative account on the server. Thanks in advance. DSW
dkemme Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 FMServer 5.5 is a service on OSX. The Config program allows you to start and stop the service as well as configure backups. I imagine the manual is available on filemaker.com.
