benk Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I know this has been resolved in FMP 7 but I have a FMP 6 Solution that I need to omit records in a scripted find. I can't seem to make it work. Let me explain the find...First their is a find by date range, then a number of products to be excluded, each requiring a new request. I am sure it is just sequencing in my script... Thanks!
-Queue- Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Need more input. Please either attach a screenshot of your script or zip/stuff a sample file with the script included.
benk Posted August 17, 2004 Author Posted August 17, 2004 It is more of a general use question...I can get the find to work when I pause the find and click the omit checkbox, but I want the script to do this automatically.
-Queue- Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Ah, you use the Omit Record script step to do this automatically. If you are using Duplicate Record/Request for additional requests, you should be aware that the omit will carry over. If you use New Record/Request, however, it will not.
benk Posted August 17, 2004 Author Posted August 17, 2004 Thanks -Queue-, you know how sometimes the simplest things seem to just baffle you sometimes? I feel pretty stupid with how long I messed with this... Ben
-Queue- Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Be thankful you're on 6 and not 4. It took me ages to discover why my Omit steps weren't working. In 4 the Status Area cannot be hidden and locked or the Omit step produces no results. Don't beat yourself up too much. It's all part of the learning experience. And now you know...
