Can't get a subsummary field to work.

I have been trying to get a subsummary report to work all day long.

I want one field to head a group of all the other related records. LIke a heading.

I know you have to sort to get it to work but it still isn't.

Are there any other suggestions?

Are you creating the subsummary in the related file?

No , But I got it using the wizard to make a new layout. But I don't know how to change the Background colors.

Select the part in Layout Mode that you want to change. Click the fill box in the status area to change its color.
