I am running Window XP FM Developer 7

I did set up a validation for a field to check if there is a duplicated record.

If it is duplicated, then It gives me a customized message (the validation box message) that it is a duplicated record, I just the click the Revert button. That was FMP version 6

I converted this FMP 6 file to version 7, the validation is remained the same, nothing is changed.

However when a duplicated record occurs, it is not only show the customized message to ask to Revert the record, but it also show another Filemaker message:

My understanding is that it has to do with when you commit the changes to a record. One place to change it is in the Layout Setup menu option in Layout mode. There you can set FMP to save the changes automatically, for that specific layout. This may or may not be adviseable depending on your needs.
