Newbies Lurm Posted August 21, 2004 Newbies Posted August 21, 2004 Hoping someone can help... My Mac crashed and I lost a drive, but I was able to recover my FP file. However, when I try to open it, I get an error (#808) saying that the "access privileges were damaged or tampered with" (and subsequently won't open). I think that the data is okay in the file, I just can't open it. Anyone know how to get past this? Thanks!!!
cobra Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Hi Lurm, In the summary that displayed after your file was recovered, did any errors show up? Have you tried doing a second recover on the file that was recovered? If you have an older copy of the file (from a backup), have you tried importing data into it from the recovered file? Did you get the same error? Did you have more than one password on the file and try opening the file with that password (even if it has less privileges)? If all answers to the above are yes and the file still won't open, the best bet is to send the file to FileMaker, Inc for recovery. I believe there's a $100 fee per FMP5/FMP6 database (I think this is a per-table fee for FMP7). Hope this help! Cobra
