Help me create a find script with FM7

Featured Replies

Hi there...I've attached a screen shot of the the script I've written to automate a find that will then take the user to a report.

I need to figure out why the previous find data is remaining when I run the script, as I want the user to be able to enter fresh find data each time the script is run. It's is pausing to allow the new find data to be entered but the final report shows the old.

Please help me find the simple thing I'm missing crazy.gif

Thr perform find step has [replace] option set. Turn that off and you should be OK.

Jana, your script displays - Perform Find/Replace [ ] . This is a case of mistaken identity; the script name is similar to another ...

You need to use Perform Find [ ] from the Found Sets script section a bit further down. Vs. 7 has no Perform Find [ Replace ]. wink.gif

Thanks! Looks like the student is the master!

Hardly! But thanks anyway. In versions < 7, Perform Find [ ] came BEFORE Perform Find/Replace in the script box. And it also displayed an option to 'Replace Found Set' which most referred to simply as Replace.

FM 7's changes - shifting their order and removing the Replace option from Perform Find [ ] are both logical steps but they can throw one off. So when someone posts listing Perform Find/Replace [ ], it is easily misinterpreted as Perform Find [Replace]. I recognized the problem from personal experience, that's all. smile.gif
