Is there a keyboard shortcut to "open" the layout pop-up menu in order to view and select a particular layout?

Many thanks for your reply. Although this is not quite the answer I was looking for I appreciate your suggestion. I have checked out the website and their idea seems very useful. Also their website looks like a good find.
