HELP! Can't access my database - no backup!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm desperate here!

I've installed Filemaker 7 mobile and now I can't access my database.

Worse, I can't find my backup.

I tried to do a find and replace, but couldn't because I didn't have access (I'd set no passwords, hadn't played with users, and assumed it was FM mobile somehow.

I looked at the access menu and was logged in on a guest account, so I changed the tick box to Account name which was the computer administrator, assuming the password would be my computer admin password.

It isn't though - I've tried every password I've ever used and also "<no password>" and "password.

I always get the message " the account name and password you entered cannot be used to access this file".

Can anyone help? - please!

cheers,

Mike

Try Admin for the username with no password. Or Admin and Admin.

I've just tried

"Admin", "admin", "ADMIN" and also with full stops aftr each with no luck.

I put the file through a shareware password recovery prog that said "no password"

AH BINGO - GOT IT!!!! - You meant admin as the username and it worked!

Thank you so much, I can stop crying now!

Many, many thanks!
