Veqtor Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Hi, I have a members database with a picture field in it. I want to be able to take the members photo with a web cam or digital photo but i've been told i can't do that with filemaker. Does anyone know how i can do this? Is there a new feature in 7, a work-around or a plug-in somewhere? By the way i've never used a plug-in before so if that's the way to go i'd also appreciate some basic pointers on how it works. Any help would be appreciated.

transpower Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Sure, you can import JPEGS directly into container fields in FileMaker.
bikergeek Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 On a Mac, you'd use an AppleScript application to control the webcam software, triggered by the Send Event script step, which can launch external applications. Is there an analogous option under Windows, like VBS or any other external scripting language with which you could create a script to control the webcam software, save it as an executable, and launch it using Send Event?
