Script to copy some fields from 1st DB to 2nd DB

This should be easy but I've looked through all the help documents I have and don't quite understand it. There is 2 DBs. One for the first time the patient comes in (Plan of Treatment) and one for each time they come in afterward (Updated Plan of Treatment). There will be multiple records in the second DB for each record in the first. Right now this is what I'm trying to use but I can't figure out how to connect it to the first DB. It is executing from the second DB through a button in the first DB.

New Record/request

Copy [select]

Paste [select]

Copy [select]

Paste [select]

Copy [select]

Paste [select]

I don't quite understand the relationship feature, is that what I need to use here? Do I need to create a relationship for each field?

Also one more question that I was unsure of. I have 400 fields per record. Is this going to be a problem? What is the limit?

Thanks,

Pete

The relationship is based on one key field (PatientID, or some such -- and make sure that the value is unique in each record).

You definitely want to use a relationship here -- you can check the manual, or head to the bookstore for a book that makes sense to you (manuals and instruction books are generally obtuse).
