I've been a longtime developer, but have never utilized XML until now (or rather, I need to use XML now).

Here's my dilemma::

I have a contacts table that I want to export to the web via XML. I then want to later import those records back into my contacts table from web using a script.

What's the best way to go about this?

I've been able to export the records to an XML data source on my local drive. Do I need to utilize a style sheet at this point or should I simply post it to the web? I have a personal website and yahoo site builder tool that my webhosting service provided.

Do I need to save the XML source in the same folder as my web pages? Do I have to use something called a data island?

Once on the web, how do I import those records? Do I use HTTP Request? If so, what's the proper grammer to use?

XML is a new language and I wish I had the time to learn it from scratch...

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi kevh72

Please up date your profile to reflect the platform, operating system and version of FileMaker you are using.

The link is just below your name on the left and is in blue "profile".

Thanks,

Lee
