Hi,

I am upgrading from Server 5 to Advanced Server 7. I have the full version of advanced server 7. The DB that im currently running is set up in a 5 enviornment, (5 Pro client and 5 server).

How exactly should I handle the task of changing everything over to 7 Pro (client) and 7 Server (advanced). Can I install 7, while leaving 5? Is that the best way to do it. Or should I delete all the versions of 5 first and then install 7?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.....thanks!!!

Definitely read the Migration topics papers from FileMaker. You should convert your files and test them before deploying them on the server.

It doesn't hurt anything to have both versions of FileMaker Pro on the clients, but you shouldn't try to run both Server versions on the same box.
